What does the future looks like?
Why give?
Technology is a go-to!
So may things are automated, typed with thumbs, “drawn” with a stylus on a screen, “created” by asking an artificial invisible being.
Less and less we know the feeling of touching material and working with our hands.
We are loosing eye-hand coordination, imagination, and creativity for easy and sterile. Luckily, the yearning is there. People are recognizing a missing connection.
We want to foster this connection!
So for us, the future is helping to provide avenues for people young and older to have access to woodworking.
We want to promote classes and expand showcases.
Our first step is to have free classes offered to youth through Able Trade.
We will broaden to offering a class once a year to a Craft School of choice to adult workshops.
Our biennial showcase is already growing but it’s in need of a major leap forward in promoting the wood world!
In addition we want to motivate students to apply by offering a Student Discount.
